A SCARCE .45-70 'MODEL SHARPS 1874 No.3' HIGH-GRADE FALLING-BLOCK SPORTING RIFLE, serial no. SH29997,
recent, with blued octagonal slightly tapered 32in. barrel, 'Rocky Mountain' fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, brushed bright falling-block receiver hand engraved with borders and scrolls, the right side of action and the lockplate featuring vignettes of gilt buffalo, engraved hammer body, highly figured walnut butt-stock with scroll engraving to the brushed bright heel-plate, scroll engraved finger-lever, double set triggers, figured walnut splinter fore-end with white-metal moulded tip and engraved screws, the whole appearing little used and complete with a vernier tang-sight (not fitted) and original paperwork
